All of us feel anxious from time to time, but sometimes these feelings persist. They may then become hard to manage and interfere with daily life. In this booklet you will find clearly described ways of dealing with anxiety that are proven to be effective. You can use the methods explained here by yourself, or with help from a friend, or therapist.

Authors: Gillian Butler is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. Gillian is now retired, but still working for OCTC and in the local forensic service. Melanie Fennell is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with OCTC. She has been involved in working with cognitive behaviour therapy for many years, and enjoys writing for the general public about this very effective and empowering psychological treatment for anxiety.

Menstrual Matters highly recommends this booklet for those who experience anxiety on a cyclical, or on-going basis. You may wish to try these exercises while you wait for your dietary, lifestyle, or medication changes to take effect.
